I was still a boy when this song came out, and I didn't know anything about Otis Redding other than 1. he was the singer, and 2. he had recently died. My musical knowledge increased quite a bit over the years, and by the early 1980s, I was aware of his personal history, and his legacy, and of how much we lost when he left us.

Nice to wake up to this. Thanks.
