Tuesday's March ~ OpenLinkNight 32
Midnight…now Tuesday morning
And still…we wait
no words to still the rapidly beating
hearts that need to hear.
Anxiety ridden, as each siren sounds.
Each rolling bauble of red
That dances across the yellowed stippled ceiling
Usually ignored, unnoticed
Rages like the red of the bands
That decorate our upper arms
As we cower in the darkness
Of this abandoned complex.
They know...but still don't see
their minds manipulated
shoot first, question later
Still we stand
against the madness, though
consensus among the supporters
of this great regime
is staggering.
Our mission is misunderstood.
Marked now,
As we form the resistance
Against a mad man
Six has become five but
We know there are others.
We will unite
then we will pay tribute to the fallen.
Lives sacrificed for the freedom of those
Too foolish to know they’re not.
Free, that is…systemized, categorized
And put to rest in alphabetized order...
thinking we are the deserters.
Tuesday…morning light
And still no word…
Too long gone now to switch direction
We move forward,
One man down
Against an army of thousands.
Happy OpenLinkNight Poets! I've got a stage to set and glasses to polish before we open the doors, but I'm really hoping we'll see you at dVerse at 3EST....afterall...it's what Tuesday's are really known for...right?

From midnight to dawn without a nap
Can be a task in and of itself
Making one a tad crazy at their shelf
But putting it into alphabetical order works for me
So nice to me ocd
Also thought you were getting rid of this WV crap? Needs to take a nap!
"Lives sacrificed for the freedom of those
Too foolish to know they’re not."
I also love that you're continuing to explore the triad form--it's my favorite, underutilized form.

Free, that is...
Well done!

Too foolish to know they’re not.*
I especially like these ones, saying it all ... absurd games we play, which become wars and then it hurts but life goes on... as it has over the many years passed...
But it seems there is a time (high) when there is no credit for that foolishness any more.
Deep and harsh.

The Light against the Dark, as it has been over and over and over again, and will be again through the various cycles on Earth! The Kali Yuga has about run its course.
I really enjoyed this, and was nice to visit your parlour once again...Let your Light so shine...

These are great images and so well blended into the moment:

Great work!

Utmost respect for those who serve and keep our freedom to be able to say and do as we wish, in peace.
Great, powerful piece of writing from you.
We know there are others.
We will unite
There is a hopeful sense of right in this piece for me--very powerful piece---
Peace

I'm not sure fully why these words hit me as deep as they did - they are powerful and oh, so true.
Your poem was chilling and beautiful...
