The Knowing ~ #OpenLinkNight @dVersePoets

Earth
Solid, yet shifting
Foundations rooted
Drinking of the mystery
To be found below

Fire
Hot, yet healing
Purifying, flames dance
Scrying
Foretelling futures
Yet the veil does not burn

Water
Life force, flowing
Baptism, forgiveness
Still no mysteries
Are revealed

Air
Breath of the gods
Invisible, deadly
Fueling wings
Defying gravity
But no secrets dance
Among its currents

Magick
Elemental power
Combine the forces
Drink of their energies
Bow low in reference
Speak the words
On fluted tongue
Revel in the magic
Voice of the drum
Dance within the smoke
Of sacred sage
Sweet grass visions
Divination, chanting
vibrations on a level
above the realm of the physical
to sway among the secrets
to slither beneath the veil
forces combined
to move waking mind
into the realm
of the knowing.

Up for OpenLinkNight at dVersePoets where Brian Miller is manning the show. Also standing in for my NaPoWriMo for 24.04.12

love the archaic mystical feel to your magic today tash...all the elements born together and revelled in...and the knowing, but only when you choose to dance...

Tash! This is amazing! I love the rhythm here-

Speak the words
On fluted tongue
Revel in the magic
Voice of the drum
Very cool... Let's do it! Let's dance! When you get to that place everything can change.

This is like a a fifth element- after earth, air, water, and fire- magic- being something that maybe binds it all together, something intangible - something mysterious but intrinisically linked to the earth- channelled through those furnace enough to 'know'- spiritual, ethereal, magical

Good stuff. Really like how you pull pieces of the elements into the final stanza; smoke form fire, drink the water, grass of the earth... Very good.

Love the elements, and really love how Magick was the longest of the sections here, another grand slam Tash. Thanks

Good poem--like the elements heading each segment and then the magic as something extra. Good turn of the words as well, concise but pointed.
Great write! Makes me want to dance naked under the full moon!
Would sound great set to music.
Scrying sent me to the dictionary again. A word with a meaning not revealed in its sound.

Love the mysticism...the call of all the forces...reaching realms beyond our human limitations...
A magical write, Tash. It makes me think of something I read earlier today; If your light is gonna shine, you got to be on fire!

Oh, this is a stunning poem. I love how you work earth, fire, water, air, and then Magick. There is so much mystery yet to be revealed!
The magic surrounds us, concealed in elements, in minds, in hearts. But around here, most of the magic is in your words.
I echo many of the sentiments here, and want to encourage the mysticism I see here. Beautiful - magick indeed.

Like an earlier comment I could hear a melody play behind these fine words, thoughts and visions. WHat you said was kool, but the rythmic flow of your heart and passion behind the words, is what gave this life, gives this life. And I imagine it is what makes you such a special person. On top of whatever the world has thrown your way, your heart still beats to the melodic concerto of hope and peace. I enjoyed the visit once again. It was enriching.

Oh I love this! It has such a wonderfully ethereal quality, ancient and yet not. So very good!

Life being made - moving into the realm as good (not evil!) No original sin here. K.

I am still running pondering considering this beautiful poem over and over, Natasha. You've captured ideas feelings energies both corporeal and ethereal and blended them so well. This is as much an invocation as a poem and there is strength and certainty in it, even when detailing things that are essentially mysteries. Your elemental stanzas set up the rite of the final stanza perfect and take it where it needs to go. I am going to come back to your beautiful wisdom words again and again.

Fantastic! The elements have always fascinated me, and here you've given them life via magic with your poem.

Since before the Greeks there has always been talk of a Fifth Element that surpasses the four elementals of earth, air, fire, and water. Interesting that you should weave that force around magick, and such an alchemical ode you do weave.

The forces of nature pull us into their circle and reveal so much about themselves, but more importantly about ourselves and our destiny. Your powerful words remind us of those rites that draw us into worlds beyond sense, into a knowing that blasts instrumental reason intomits proper sphere.

This is an interesting way to consider just what we know Tash. I enjoyed the rhythmic flux.

I found this to be a lovely expression of the elements unique individuality tied with the thread of their necessary union to create harmony. ~ Rose
