Somewhere Under the Lilac Bush @NWCreativeUnion
It's the return of the Wednesday Wake Up Call over at the NWCU, and Roger (aka @ChasingTao) has pulled no punches. The goal is to create, via whatever medium suits your fancy, a blog post using the following as prompt: yellow, green, blue, triangle, peace, lilacs and a child. SO...here's my take! The prompt is up for four days, meaning you've lots of time to play along.
Somewhere Under the Lilac Bush
The first flowers of the season
scenting landscapes and table tops
as grandmothers prune
and children stand on tiptoes
as though under a spell
to dream of blue skies
and magic kingdoms
Like a magnet
her lavender dress
draws them across green pastures
while sunspots dance
in prisms of golden yellow
dancing behind tired eyes
still, her perfume entices
the shade of her blossoming
branches invite
With worlds waiting to be discovered
kingdoms in need of conquering
the child slips into the shadows of her shade
Grandmother continues clipping
snip, snap, snip, snap
soon a symphony
as imagination soars
despite tired eyes
There, somewhere under the lilac bush
Prince Charming is discovered
eyelids growing heavy
he rises to slay the dragon
Silver against the shadowed earth
bringing forth peace to his kingdom
as the snip, snap, snip, snap
sends him off on a wave of dreams
where the grand parade awaits
in his honor.
