#SundaySnapShot @NWCreativeUnion
This week, Leslie Moon (aka @Moondustwriter) brings us the fantastic black & white photography of artist Terence Jones. As a fan of the form, I find it to be one of the most difficult expressions, and Terence's ability to capture the essences of his subjects in shadow is amazing. A stroll through his gallery will impress, and I chose my favorite from the prompt to write to. Join us over at NWCU and get to know Terence and his work...and maybe even add your own response!
It always begins in shadow...and ends much the same. The point of this existence is to question. What do we amount to if we remain content to only stroll about when no shadows are present.
Faith is a funny thing when presented publicly. In the light of the sun, at high noon, when the shadows run. Golden thrones and rich red velvet. Bread and wine. Such juvenile expressions of blood and body.
We now celebrate theme parks that celebrate the crucifixion. Hollywood Christ walks the Florida sand while true believers and tourists co-mingle at the sidelines.
"Neither a lender nor a borrower be" Yet somehow I know, this production was not funded on tithing.
Shakespeare would be rolling in his grave over the drama. That is...if he even existed. Much like Christ, he too has fallen to the need for conspiracy and theory.
Is it any wonder, I seek the shadows. It is in the shadow of my own existence where my spirit dwells. Openly expressed at midnight, when the clocks strike 12, and we are trapped between what was and what will be.
I pray for a better tomorrow...but know... with the freedom and the gift of free will, it is my responsibility to be better. To lead by example, not by fear. Little do they realize, their god resides within me. First...they must awaken...to the god within them.
