Up to her Ankles ~ #Poetics @dVersePoets
You could taste the metal in the air. Her, ankle deep and wading
through every ounce of life that ever dared try to steal her own.
It was a dark November sky that screamed for color.
Dull, lifeless...like the very beings who had tried for so long
to tell her she was just like them.
The carousel spinning, her arms tired
snap back recoil
and still the music played
pan flutes and forgotten carnival vendors
no eyes left to see
as one rogue red balloon
delivered her message to the world.
and she falls to her knees
for once, accepting of her fate
Today's prompt and art have both been provided by Kelvin, who takes the stage at Poetics today for the very first time. Let's show him the love and deliver a poem...time to play pen-wielders!
