OpenLinkNight 9 ~ dVersePoets ~ Nameless
Nameless faces
Nameless streets
A wave of bodies
She battles
weak against the power
strength in numbers
Forsaken directions
At merciless hands
Painted as one
Her stomach growls
her womb emptied
judged
Their connection to source sacrificed
To feed hungry off spring
Devastated
Harlot of hand-me-downs
Daddy left her bruised
hated by a mother not her own
They fall prey to the dogma
That has dictated their path
Predicted their demise
Forced into the crowd
unwelcome
tainted Saint of Beautiful
Dignity vanished age 21
Mama found daddy
Daddy found gun
Too much of a good thing
ancient before her time
decayed purity rotting
Run, run, run
Freedom was a promise
Broken now done
Immaculate conception
the idea of safe passage
route chosen
Sweet escape
Nose dive concrete
Who fears skyscrapers?
A bronze t-bird
highway to hell
roller coaster to freedom
Angels within reach,
Compassion, distraction
A nameless face
Alive in the wreckage
Pure in the pain
flavored with copper
Fall from grace
Onto heaven
Pushed out of place.

What a sad story to dwell upon...
calisthenics in too!
Thank you!
like the form and tight use of words ~
Daddy found gun" and "Run, run, run / Freedom was a promise / Broken now done". Though gloomy, I enjoyed the ride. Great write!
Mama found daddy
Daddy found gun
I like the word dance of that, and other passages.
Take heart, if any of this is your actual story. It is never too late to have a good childhood!
I agree with Charles, it's never too late for the inner child to find a voice.
Fabulous prose, haunting, savage topic.
powerful bit of poetry here.

That has dictated their path..."
Excellently woven as usual Natasha! Those two lines are so true...and that's why empires are falling, falling in slow motion...
Gotta love it!

flavored with copper"
by that point, i tasted the copper...
i agree with Mama Zen ~ you quite evocatively portray the feelings of being consumed by life. a powerful write that is quite sensitive to her plight.
the structure really enhances the words. brilliant, Natasha!
