Speak to Me ~ #poetry by @Tashtoo

Speak to Me

Speak to me of poetry
In metaphor and simile
Words that beat in tune with heart
Words ignite a lover’s spark.

Upon your chest I rest my hand
Your beating heart, the words command
You steal the shadows, you bring the light
My wordsmith warrior, burning bright.

Behind your mind I like to hide
Under your charge I can reside
In your words, my fears will cower
To drink  your voice, in thirst devour

A Sunday morning, late in bed
Whispered words dance in my head
Skin to skin,  your magic voice
Lost to your words, I lose my choice

Speak to me of poetry
In metaphor and simile
Weave your spell, enchant your muse
I am here for you to use.

Joy (@hedge_witch) is prepping the bar for another fantastic night of poetry.  It's OpenLinkNight at dVersePoets!  Hedge is weaving her magic and will have the doors open at 3pmEST.

Oh wow... the rhyme, the rhythm... I'm breathless...
"Behind your mind I like to hide
Under your charge I can reside
In your words, my fears will cower
To drink your voice, in thirst devour

A Sunday morning, late in bed
Whispered words dance in my head
Skin to skin, your magic voice
Lost to your words, I lose my choice"

My God Tash.... this is brilliant.... I've never heard your voice, but I swear I can hear you reading this...
Ahh... I drown in the ocean of your words, each final gasp an integral verse, your wyrde is to swim a master of this sea, powerful flukes raising spume into the light, each drop an intricate delight. It was a good day when I met you, even at this remove.

This has a quite lovely antiquarian feel to it, Natasha, but it is as if it has a foot in two worlds...the past and the present...kind of like poetry itself.

You're the one weaving the magic rhyme here, Natasha. Lovely mood, wistful, loving, tender, and very smooth as well. Loved it.
Love is poetry and poetry is love. Can feel the longing and passion for it in this one! Well done!

You've done a great job. Often rhyming poetry clunks, but you've carried this through excellently. I think your poetry has been getting stronger and stronger.

The rhyme (something I generally avoid cause I can't do it!) and the Rhythm is spot on....

A lovely, evocative poem that churns in the brain and heart.

Brava!

Weave your spell, enchant your muse

I think it is the rhyme in this one that is the thingamabob that does that job. It's a real incantation...

I'm a pushover for couplets, and a returning of the verse in the end back to its beginning, like the lyrics from a song.

I love how the rhthym and your words feel like something from a more traditional world. Beautiful...
A wonderful poem. It reminds of when I first started writing poetry. Just a side show at first, then slowly but surely took over, and now, it's just poetry, fiction left by the wayside.

Poetry just, it envelops you. In a totally awesome way. And your poem captured that. Excellent work.
