Mind Melt ~ OpenLinkNight ~ dVersePoets
Big ups to Ed Nix for the awesome photo! AKA @ametsound |
A not so gentle reminder of where we've been...where we're heading
at the mercy of the seasons
that stretch longer, colder, hotter, warmer
Oceans resist...
their waters
are one with earth
but we too are water
that resists and defies
reason...
we slip, slide,
cartoon like
arms flailing
toward the sharpened point
where what is real
and what is wanted
can no longer be denied.
and we begin to drip
drip, drip
as the thaw upends our rationale
and we are left to wade
knee deep
through the consequences.
It's OpenLinkNight and Brian Miller is the muscle behind the bar tonight at dVerse! He'll be opening the doors at 3pmEST, and once again, I find myself ready and waiting!
For those of you on twitter...check out @ametsound. He's in insurance by day, but as this macro shot indicates...there's a keen eye just dying to bust out! And imagine his surprise to find he's suddenly being cyberstalked by a huge troop of poets! Sounds like fun to me! Oh...and did I mention he's an AWESOME Blue Noser too ;)

That would make my nose go out of umm joint-y
Or take it clean off
I would surely scoff
So that means I must not get caught
So consequences there are not..haha

some good lines here, Tash. I enjoyed it!
A punch in the gut to those who would like to look away from the thaw and forget.
I feel it covers more than just one political hot potato as well a a moral one.
Thanks for sharing :)

I need some rain before I can slip slide into spring I think--Beautiful writing as always!

Thank God they're only knee high - I feel I'm swimming in my consequences at the moment....
Great job Tash <3
