Purple Craves
Abstract 02 ~ Walter Smith |
Cityscapes, countrysides, mountain looming, valley low
No matter how you try to decorate
the foundation remains the same.
Ground down, way down, lower than low
till the soul starts to burn
fireside, ember, hot rocks
from crumbling roaches where happiness died
alone she cried
but smiled for the world
this girl
from sand to pearl
decked out in purple
California dreaming down a rainbow road
heavy loads
lost to the layers of hallucination
the volume of a forced conversation
over powering, true self cowering
food supply rots, mourning milk souring
TOWERING
the layers, one after another
nothing real, touch, taste, feel
peel to reveal
they know your there
but with eyes wide
beyond mystified
lies the girl
with the purple pearl
she stands
where the pavement starts to crack
starving hearts with lack
Take it back
take it all
before this skin does start to crawl.
Going abstract for this Poetics write. Sheila Moore has shared the fantastic work of Walter Smith...and I fear another addiction. His work is AMAZING! Visit dVerse and tell me your pen has NOT been inspired!
