No Expectations ~ #Poetry
Lay down your burdens
I promise...my shoulders are strong enough to bear the weight.
You know as well as I do
You hold it inside
you die.
Cast off your troubles
Looking back keeps you bleeding
slow...painful
until somewhere
you forget yourself
convince yourself
they were of your own making
Sometimes good things end
Sometimes we hang on so hard they sour
Every day a battle
as we cling to what was lost without notice
caught up in life
left wondering why.
and really
who's to say what good passes us by
as we wallow
swallowing the fabricated blame
we place on ourselves in the search for answers.
We forfeit so much of who we are in our hunt
expecting it all to somehow make sense.
It never does...it never will.
Our own minds guarantee it.
The enemy dwells within.
Are you strong enough to silence him.
Or will he win?
How much are you willing to miss?

a hopeful poem about making change.

so much....we cant see it in that moment...so self consumed...and we do lose much of ourselves in the hunt as well....we have to be careful we dont lose it all...
This should be given to every single person on this planet before they become anywhere near an adult so that they avoid this temting trap that so many of us fall into.
A truly powerful piece that I connected with very easily.
Congrats on the book being published. Pulse is one fantastic name. A double live album from Pink Floyd is called Pulse, so your book has a lot to live up to ;-)

expecting it all to somehow make sense."
This is always the challenge - trying to assess the risk before the undertaking . Great poem here, and congrats on your book!
I'm not going to pretend I knew about your book until now but since so many are congratulating you, I will certainly add my kudos to theirs!

Expecting everything to make sense is a trap we fall into, sometimes we just have to let go and give up that control.
Pamela
